At Compression Care, we are always looking for ways to make compression care more accessible, affordable, and convenient — for both providers and patients.

That is exactly what this Big Day of Training session is about.

In this replay, Compression Care co-founder Steve Ludwig walks through how CompressionGuru.com fits into the Compression Care ecosystem and how providers can use it more effectively in their day-to-day workflow. From self-pay referrals inside the portal to new quote tools and custom shops, this session is packed with practical ways to save time and help patients get the products they need.

If you work with patients who need compression garments, bandaging supplies, or self-pay options, this replay is worth your time.  Watch it here: https://youtu.be/m25lKfIx090

Why Compression Guru Matters

Compression Guru plays an important role in the way Compression Care supports patients.

At its core, Guru serves as an affordability safety net for patients who:

  • Do not have insurance coverage
  • Do not have enough insurance coverage
  • Need compression items that are not covered by insurance
  • Need access to lower self-pay pricing

Steve explains that most products on Compression Guru are sold at MAP pricing — the lowest retail price allowed by the manufacturer. That makes Guru a critical resource when cost becomes a barrier.

This is not just about selling products. It is about helping patients maintain access to high-quality compression care, even when insurance falls short.

Three Ways to Use Compression Guru in Your Workflow

A major focus of the session is how providers can now incorporate Guru into their daily process in three different ways.

1. Self-Pay Patient Referrals Inside the Compression Care Portal

One of the biggest upgrades is that Guru is now connected directly to the Peace of Mind portal.

That means when you are already inside the Compression Care dashboard, you can submit a self-pay patient referral without leaving the portal. You can:

  • Add a new patient or select one from your list
  • Build a self-pay cart from Guru’s full product catalog
  • Submit the referral directly to the Guru team

Once submitted, the order goes to the Guru team, where a staff member follows up with the patient, helps them complete the purchase, and keeps you informed along the way.

This feature removes extra steps and helps create a smoother process for providers who already work inside the portal.

2. Cart-to-Quote

Steve also introduces a new feature on the Guru site called Cart-to-Quote.

Instead of simply adding items to a shopping cart, providers can now:

  • Add products to a quote
  • Enter the patient’s contact information
  • Include a note with product guidance or instructions
  • Request an insurance benefits check if desired

Once sent, the patient receives a quote tied back to your name, so they know the recommendation came from you. From there, the Guru team follows up and keeps you updated on whether the patient:

  • Purchased the quote
  • Declined the quote
  • Became non-responsive
  • Abandoned the quote for affordability or other reasons

This is a particularly helpful tool for clinics that regularly recommend self-pay products, especially bandaging supplies and non-covered items.

3. Custom Shops

The third major feature is the new Custom Shop option.

A Custom Shop is essentially your own curated shop inside CompressionGuru.com. It allows you to create a personalized product selection that only shows the items you commonly recommend.

This can include:

  • Commonly used garments
  • Standard bandaging kits
  • Sleeve and gauntlet combinations
  • Full leg combinations
  • Arm or leg kits for clinic use
  • Custom bundles for specific patient needs

Each shop gets its own URL and can also be turned into a QR-code-based marketing sheet that you can keep in treatment rooms or share with patients.

The benefit is simple: instead of sending a patient to a site with thousands of products, you can direct them straight to the products you actually want them to see.

Why These Features Matter

The value of these tools goes beyond convenience.

When combined, Custom Shop and Cart-to-Quote allow providers to:

  • Standardize recommendations
  • Reduce confusion for patients
  • Save time on follow-up
  • Make sure patients are offered exactly what you intended
  • Improve the self-pay experience

This is especially helpful in a healthcare environment where costs are rising, deductibles are higher, and patients are often asked to make more financial decisions than ever before.

Built Around Affordability

Affordability is one of the strongest themes in this session.

Steve explains that Compression Care is working hard to create multiple ways for patients to manage costs, including:

  • Lowest out-of-pocket cost comparisons
  • Self-pay pricing through Compression Guru
  • Payment plans through partners
  • Insurance benefits checks initiated directly through the Guru site

Patients can even break purchases into multiple payments, helping reduce the burden of larger out-of-pocket expenses.

This reinforces a central message: Guru is not just an online store. It is a tool that supports patient access and long-term success.

Integrated with the Bigger Compression Care System

The replay also connects Guru back to Compression Care’s broader systems, including:

  • Benefits verification
  • Lowest out-of-pocket cost guarantee
  • Care Coordination Network
  • Insurance routing when Compression Care is out of network
  • Payment plan options
  • Improved patient communication and follow-up

This bigger picture matters because it shows that Guru is not a disconnected site. It is part of a larger strategy to support patients across insurance, self-pay, affordability, and care coordination.

Why You Should Watch the Replay

This session is especially valuable if you:

  • Send patients to buy bandaging or self-pay items
  • Need a faster way to build quotes
  • Want to standardize patient product recommendations
  • Need a simpler way to manage non-covered compression products
  • Want to reduce administrative burden while helping patients save money

It is practical, workflow-focused, and highly actionable.
